LabGuard has operated one of India’s most advanced in-house ASHRAE 110 testing laboratories, enabling manufacturers, pharma R&D teams, CROs, chemical plants, and academic institutions to validate the safety and performance of their fume hoods.

Our facility is engineered to conduct all tests prescribed under ASHRAE 110:2016, including evaluations for Constant Air Volume (CAV) and Variable Air Volume (VAV) fume hoods. Every test is performed by trained and certified LabGuard specialists, ensuring precise measurements, repeatable results, and complete transparency. Clients are encouraged to witness the testing live, either at our factory or at their site.

Face Velocity & Cross-Draft Testing

We measure average face velocity across the working aperture, point-by-point grid measurements, effects of room air currents and cross drafts, and impact of sash height changes on airflow stability. This helps evaluate whether the hood maintains consistent capture performance under normal room conditions.

VAV Response & Stability Tests

For VAV fume hoods, we assess dynamic sash movement response time, airflow stabilization time, overshoot/undershoot behaviour, and controller accuracy and repeatability. These tests determine if the VAV system can maintain safe airflow levels during real operational use.

Local & Large-Volume Visualization (Smoke) Tests

We perform both Local Visualization Challenge Test and Large Volume Visualization Test. Using visible, non-toxic smoke, our engineers visualize airflow patterns inside the hood, areas of turbulence or backflow, leakage at edges and corners, and overall containment behaviour.

Tracer Gas (SF₆) Containment Test

The SF₆ Tracer Gas Test is the most critical and globally recognized indicator of fume hood performance. We measure containment leakage at various sash positions, operator breathing zone concentration, hood robustness during disturbances, and pass/fail results as per ASHRAE criteria.
